Compressed Air Leak Detection and Repair
Compressed Air Leak Detection and Repair
Leaks are one of the most significant causes of energy loss in industrial compressed-air systems.
Trust Air Compressor provides leak detection, recording and repair services for compressed-air and vacuum networks, as well as pneumatic circuits operating within production equipment.
Ultrasonic Leak Detection
Inspections are carried out using specialised ultrasonic equipment to detect leaks that are difficult to identify within the normal noise of an industrial facility.
In most applications, the inspection can be performed while the installation remains in normal operation, without requiring a general production shutdown.
Leak Recording and Technical Assessment
Each leak point can be recorded with a photograph, location, component description and repair priority.
Where the necessary operating information is available, we can estimate the compressed-air loss and its corresponding energy cost based on operating pressure, production hours and installation conditions.
Leak Repair
Where safe access, available time and suitable materials allow, some leaks can be repaired during the inspection.
Leak points requiring a machine shutdown, special spare parts or additional technical work are included in an organised repair plan prepared with the customer’s technical department.
SMC Pneumatic Equipment and Technical Support
We inspect and repair pneumatic cylinders, valves, pressure regulators, filters, fittings, tubing and pneumatic valve manifolds.
Components are selected according to the application, operating pressure and machine requirements, using suitable SMC pneumatic equipment or products from other manufacturers.
Compressed-Air Energy-Cost Analysis
Leak detection can be combined with measurements of pressure, airflow, electrical energy consumption, temperature and other operating parameters.
This allows us to assess not only the losses caused by leaks but also the overall performance of the compressed-air system.
Ongoing Leak-Management Programme
Leaks reappear because of wear, vibration, production changes and modifications to the compressed-air network. The inspection can therefore be performed either as a single service or as a recurring programme within an ongoing technical-support agreement.
Periodic inspections help keep losses under control and allow the facility to monitor the effectiveness of completed repairs.
Compressed-Air Network Assessment and Improvement
Where required, the work can be extended to include a technical assessment of the central network, pressure drops, pipe sizing and the distribution of compressed air or vacuum throughout the installation.
